Donatas Mickus Takes Helm at Crowdpear, Focusing on Sustainable Growth and International Expansion

Donatas Mickus assumed the leadership of the EU-regulated crowdfunding platform „Crowdpear” on November 3rd, bringing extensive experience in leadership and business development within the financial sector. He succeeds Vytautas Olšauskas, who previously led the company. Mickus’s tenure will prioritize the platform’s sustainable growth, responsible risk management, and continued international development.

With over 15 years of leadership experience, primarily in finance, Mickus has managed business development, sales teams, strategic partnerships, and financial product creation. From 2016 to 2018, he served as a regional manager for the financial services company „MOKILIZINGAS,” and from October 2018 to April 2026, he led the sales group at „Inbank Lietuva,” overseeing sales strategy implementation, team performance, partner collaboration, and business growth.

According to the new CEO, a key priority for „Crowdpear” will be ongoing platform expansion, coupled with a diligent approach to selecting funded projects and managing risks.

„In a relatively short period, „Crowdpear” has achieved significant results and gathered a growing community of international investors. Our goal is to consistently increase the portfolio of loans financed on the platform while maintaining high standards in project selection and risk management. We will focus on diversifying investment opportunities and expanding into foreign markets. We aim for „Crowdpear’s” growth to be sustainable, providing investors with access to quality, thoroughly evaluated investment projects,” stated Donatas Mickus, CEO of „Crowdpear.”.

Vytautas Olšauskas, the former CEO and a shareholder of „Crowdpear,” will now concentrate on his role at „Mano bankas,” where he is a co-founder and chairman of the board.

Over €60 Million in Loans Funded Through „Crowdpear”

The leadership transition occurs as „Crowdpear” continues its steady growth. Launched in 2023, the platform has facilitated over €60 million in loans, with interest paid to investors nearing €4 million since its inception. By the end of 2025, the total loan volume financed through „Crowdpear” reached €38.66 million; it has now surpassed €60 million, indicating a growth of over 55% since the end of last year.

The international investor community has also expanded, currently comprising over 11,800 users. „Crowdpear” offers investment opportunities in real estate-backed loans for property projects and other business financing needs, with annual interest rates reaching up to 14%.

Currently, projects funded through the platform are located in Lithuania, Romania, and Portugal, enabling investors to diversify their portfolios across different real estate markets, developers, and projects. Before presenting projects to investors, their financial viability, borrowers’ repayment capacity, collateral, and associated risks are rigorously assessed.

Future Priorities: Responsible Growth and Foreign Market Expansion

Mickus emphasizes the importance of balancing increased funding volumes, diverse investment offerings, and robust risk management in „Crowdpear’s” future operations.

„As the platform grows, our objective is not solely to increase the volume of financed loans. It is equally crucial to ensure consistent project evaluation, transparent communication with investors, and long-term trust. We will continue to strengthen our presence in existing markets and explore expansion opportunities in other European Union countries,” Mickus noted. The company plans to further broaden its range of real estate-backed investment offerings, enhance collaborations with project developers, and increase the diversity of investment options.
