Kaunas residents and city guests are invited to discover another renovated green space as Narsiečių Liepų alėja opens after reconstruction.
The tidied territory will become a place for peaceful walks, family leisure, children’s entertainment, and community gatherings. The official opening of the space will be marked by a celebration featuring educational activities, creative workshops, concerts, and family entertainment.
„When creating and renovating public spaces, we aim for them to become a natural part of residents’ daily lives. Narsiečių Liepų alėja will invite not only to walk or relax in nature but also to gather as a community, spend time with family, and discover new outdoor activities. Such spaces create a more vibrant and cozy city,” says Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis.
In the renovated territory among mature linden trees, a wooden walking path has been installed, allowing for comfortable enjoyment of nature and the unfolding views.
Next to the pond, a terraced relaxation area with lighting has been created, inviting visitors to pause and enjoy tranquility at any time of day.
The space is adapted to various visitor needs. A children’s playground has been installed here, and the former garden area with plants, which can not only be admired but also tasted for their fruits or berries, has been restored.
New bridges have been built for easier access to the territory, and a stone path has been formed along the canal.
The banks have been planted with flowering plants that grow near water, adding even more life and natural beauty to the space. Modern lighting complements the entire territory, ensuring a cozy atmosphere in the evenings.
The opening celebration of Narsiečių Liepų alėja will take place on June 17. The event, starting at 6 PM, will offer educational and creative activities for the whole family.
Kaunas Vincas Kudirka Public Library will invite participants to an interactive literary game, and board and outdoor games will be available.
In creative workshops, various souvenirs can be made, and the Kaunas Algis Žikevičius Safe Child School area will host insect hotel workshops.
Event participants can also take part in a bee education session, learn more about the life of bees, linden honey, and make a candle from natural beeswax.
A colorful sand mandala education, face painting for children, and stilt walker performances will create a good mood.
At 6:10 PM, a fun program based on the animated film „PAW Patrol” will await the little ones, during which children will embark on various missions, games, and dance challenges.
At 6:50 PM, young performer Adelė Kulakauskaitė will give a concert, and at 7:20 PM, Liepa Vasiliauskaitė will continue the festive mood, offering a warm and summery musical program.
The renovation of Narsiečių Liepų alėja is another step towards creating a greener, more convenient Kaunas adapted to the needs of its residents.
The new space will invite not only relaxation in nature but also the discovery of community, getting to know the environment, and enjoying quality leisure time in all seasons.
